Heat Pump Installations – Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance

MCS Accredited

We are Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certified to design and install Air Source Heat Pumps.  This means that we have been successfully assessed against the requirements of MCS and deemed to be competent to undertake the supply, design, installation, set to work, commissioning and handover of the design and installation to our customers.

Who are MCS? They are a standards organisation. They have created standards for low-carbon products and installations used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources. MCS is a mark of quality and anyone who is certified demonstrates that they meet the high industry standards ensuring quality, competency and compliance.

Air Source Heat Pump Installation

Air source heat pumps are a fantastic option when considering ways to heat your commercial property or your home. Air source heat pumps extract low grade heat energy from the outside air and transfer it as heat to the water circulating through your heating system.  Many of the new heat pumps have thermal efficiencies of over 400%.  This means that for every 1kW of electricity you put into them you get 4kW of heat output to heat your water.

Aster Building Services has decades of experience working in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning).  Heat pump technology is not new, we have been designing, specifying and installing air source heat pumps in commercial premises for many years.

We provide –

  • Design, Installation, Servicing & Maintenance
  • Experienced & Accredited Heating Engineers
  • Full plantroom upgrade, refurbishment and enhancement
  • Energy efficient control system design and installation
  • Low Carbon Consultants accredited with CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers)

Air Source Heat Pumps are suitable for use with most existing emitters, including radiant panel heating, fan coil units and air handling coils, large and small radiator systems, underfloor heating, hot water cylinders and calorifiers.

Air source heat pumps work on extremely well established thermodynamic principles, and contrary to popular belief the energy source for a heat pump is the outside air and not the electrical input. The electrical input just drives the vapour compression cycle which is the reason such high efficiencies can be achieved with a well designed heat pump system.

Unlock Up to £7,500 in Grants with the UK Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)

Are you interested in upgrading your heating system? The UK Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) offers grants of up to £7,500 to help businesses in England and Wales transition from fossil fuel heating systems to efficient air source heat pumps. This scheme is available for non-domestic properties.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Your current system must be a fossil fuel heating system or a non-heat pump electric heating system.
  • The new system must meet minimum efficiency standards.
  • The installation capacity should be 45kW or less.
  • You must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with no outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation.

Our team will handle the entire BUS application process for you, liaise with Ofgem, and ensure the grant is applied to your project. The grant amount will be deducted from your quote upfront, making the transition smoother and more affordable.

Additionally, businesses may benefit from the government’s super-deduction on capital allowance, potentially reducing your tax bill.
