M&E Planned Maintenance Technician (Croydon)

We are looking for an M&E Planned Maintenance Technician to be based at a health centre in Croydon, for carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks.

Hours of Work: 4 days a week (0700 to 1600)
Vehicle: Company Vehicle
Holidays: 18 days + bank holidays
Standby service: On call rota (paid additionally)
Contract: Permanent

This is a static role comprising of planned maintenance to the buildings HVAC plant and equipment and to the electrical and mechanical installations which includes a variety of statutory and non-statutory testing and checking along with general maintenance tasks. The role additionally includes carrying out reactive works and repairs.

 Requirements and Skills

  • Perform routine planned maintenance to a set schedule and carry out repair works as necessary.
  • General fault finding and rectification to the sites MEP installations, along with checks of fire doors and general maintenance.
  • Carry out minor electrical and mechanical installation, testing and remedial works.
  • Maintain up to date records of all work carried out on plant and equipment on internal management system.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues’, clients, customers and work as part of a team.
  • Meet with our specialist sub-contractors and ensure they are able to access the necessary work areas, ensure they sign in and out of site and they work safely whilst on site.
  • Deal courteously with clients, customers and the general public.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to customer care.
  • Wear the company uniform and be smart and professional at all times.
  • Be flexible with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Be confident in your abilities and up to date with all relevant legislation but check with colleagues and management if and when unsure before starting on the task.

Requirements:

  • Able to work safely at all times, and to write and develop RAMS and Safe Systems of Work in line with Health and Safety guidelines, procedures and practices of the Company and the site.
  • Strong and relevant MEP knowledge and qualifications.
  • Ability to carry out general planned maintenance works in those areas related to your skills to SFG20 standards along with current and industry standards.
  • Willingness to learn and to take part in any additional training identified.
  • Ability to manage and maintain accurate and up to date records of all work carried out on plant and equipment utilising our field service software system and occasional paper-based site logs where necessary.
  • Ability, skills and experience of PPM works and associated record keeping.
  • Have and be able to utilise skills and experience of fault finding and troubleshooting on all types of HVAC plant and equipment.
  • Ability to work with our field service software system to complete job tasks.

Please note the successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check which is essential for our works in schools, colleges and health clinics.
